George is soooo like our Bailey!
Nice to watch George sleeping, on my computer here in the office where Bailey isn't allowed in. ;-)-
George is allowed into the office, where he has a range of tricks to attract my attention when he wants food (walking over the keyboard, scratching at things that shouldn't be scratched, sitting in front of the monitor - you know the kind of thing). I think your way is better!
